Rei Ayanami figma - Pre Order

After recently appearing in Hobby Japan this month, Rei Ayanami's figma is now up for pre-order. Now Let's see what this figma holds...

Rei figma and Nendoroid Ui- Hobby Japan scans

Another month, another hobby Japan and this month it brings images of the long awaited Rei Ayanami, and the recently revealed  Ui Hirasawa Nendoroid!

Continuing the trend, The figma of Rei will come with an entry plug, just like Mari and Asuka that will come before Rei here.

 And the recently Announced Ui Nendoroid has gets some screen time. isn't she so cute in her junior uniform?
and very proper looking in her sakura high school uniform?

And now you too can enjoy having your face slapped with a wade of cash, just like Yui here is demonstrating

Revoltech Fraulein Mari Illustrious Makinami Unit 05 plugsuit

Kaiyodo has announced that pre orders are now available for the Mari Illustrious Makinami Unit 05 plug suit. The figure will be released in October and will retail 2,900¥.

Figma Asuka A Shadow Perspective:

Well today Mr Mirage said “Figma have put more out for Asuka, you want to do a blog spot or shall I do it tomo”.

Let me just say I politely told him she was my girl and so here I am. When it comes to Asuka I’m your man (look for an up and coming blog from me dedicated to her on a more personal level than just a line of model reviews)

Well what can you say, I have held and posed the Mari Revoltech, and I can say the Figma does look better.

For one the Revoltech has some lose joints and wear and tear can be a problem.

And it seems that the new joints WITHIN the new line of Figmas has a bust ‘joint’ that lets the body bent in a better way than just the normal waist one.

The over all look is what you expect from a Figma it has perfect sculpting and even though it’s an anime girl you can really see the human dynamic within her body. The uniform is a perfect replica of hers from 2.0 (such a sad set of scenes though).

She comes with three faces:

Scary (good for battle scenes)

Embarrassed (Too cute to mention)

Normal (Still cute heehehe)

As normally for a Figma there is many hands… so many hands…

As with Cars let’s talk extras:

Someone in Figma HQ really knows what the fans want (apart from the see through body suit), in comparison to the Revoltech (sorry guys I was not impressed with Mari from them). When I saw the miniature dolly of ‘Asuka’ I was instantly hooked on this version of my sweet sweet girl…

Ahem...

Oh and those who know the story of the dolly yeah it is creepy but boy is it fanservice.

But no it is not just this dolly and the mobile that she used in the film you get (nice phone btw, I really want one)…. This next one is WOW inducing to this intrepid Otaku.

The ‘Throne of Souls’ FULLY articulated driving handles fully scaled and INCLUDED how most excellent is that Ted!! I mean it just wraps this presentation up nicely that you even get the coolest looking model stand ever designed come with one of the best anime characters ever too.

To end it looks like they have raised the bar once again for the PVC faithful, as SOON as this beauty comes up for pre order I WILL be placing a wad of electro cash down for her.

Lets hope Figma get the others out too.

A new challenger appears.

Hi guys and girls of internet land, welcome to my (and Mr Shadow’s) blog. I would like to take this time to briefly introduce myself. My first contact with anime was the same way quite a few people got into anime: Pokémon (I can’t believe this is in spell-check). Yeah I know it is clichéd but hay it was a start. Other shows that where in the periphery at the time were sailor moon and also DIGIMON (oh how I loved that show, shame the 4^th season wasn't brought to the UK).

This then lead me to zoids. My first collecting madness. And also my first experience importing figures/model kits. The joys that a simply model kit that is motorised and walks are so great. Below is a picture of one of the little guys that are still around.

I then lost track of anime for a while. Then I found a small channel in the UK called propeller which used to have a show called Anime network (I think). This show had entirely ADV licensed anime shows on it which lead me to seeing Neon Genesis Evangelion, for the first time. I fell in love with it instantly and continued to watch it till Anime network stopped airing, on episode 24…yeah. Fast forward two years and I finally got to see the end.

I got into Figure collecting at the end of 2009, after Mr Shadow introduced me to a certain Miss Suzumiya. Got hooked on the show and it is now one of my favourite franchises. And by chance, while on a trip to London, I stumbled onto TokyoToys in the trocodiro centre. I went in an left with this little beauty:

The Maid Tsuruya-sanJ. And the rest is history.

Now onto the blog. The aim of this blog is to bring news, reviews and general interest items that I find on the internet and place them here.
